The Shaftist Art Movement ... Page 1
Well at least you found this Web Site, and are now on this page… where you go from here is entirely up to
you. If you are an artist, experiment with Shaftism, and make it your own … true art is to be shared not
just between artists, but the world.
And don’t listen to the crap and mumbo jumbo of some artists, and so called experts for that matter that
will have you believe that art is an elitist form and occupation, and is one that you have to be shown
and taught … Wrong! … Some of the best artists have been self-taught and true art can only flourish with
the individuality of each person. Try this art form and others and then settle with what you’re happiest.
If you become a Shaftist, remember you are an individual, but now part of like-minded artists that
understand my movement and art form. Shaftist artwork can use colour and form for colour and forms sake
alone or the artwork can take on a more complex manner by playing scientifically through art, with the
spectrum and refraction. True art is work that is more or less coloured by the individuality of the artist
by whatever medium. In the Shaftist medium, fired by the composition of the colours, it is left to the
individual’s imagination to bring the picture alive, for it is colour and colour alone that composes the
picture in Shaftism.
But each medium is better suited to the presentation of certain emotions than the others, and the range
of the expressive power of each is determined by the limitations of its medium. Throughout time, the
artist has experimented, and it is towards greater individual freedom that art will tend to move. Sadly,
though, art is not always constantly progressive and there are, of course, periods in which it flourishes
and periods in which it declines and at points when it nearly fades away.
